Gardner is a full line manufacturer of roof coatings, waterproofing coatings, pavement sealers, caulks, wall repair patching and wallpaper adhesives. The company operates 14 manufacturing and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. These distribution points give the company an ideal structure to service customers across the country. Also, our close proximity to major shipping ports enables many strategic advantages for our international customers. With this great network, customers can be assured we will deliver the goods on time every time!
OUR CUSTOMERS
Our customers are obviously the key to our success. We have a loyal following of contractors, architects and DIYers who depend on our products every day. Our products are distributed by the leading outlets in each of our core categories. The company sells products through distributors, retailers, specialty supply houses, as well as in components in other product manufacturing.
OUR HISTORY
Gardner Asphalt was started back in 1945 with just one small plant in Tampa, FL. In 1968 the company was acquired by the Hyer family. During the last 38 years, the business expanded across the country to be the leading supplier of packaged coatings. In May of 2000, Gardner acquired the Gibson-Homans Company, which was a perfect strategic fit. This acquisition strengthened Gardner's position in roof and driveway coatings, and also built on an established distribution channel into the paint and decorating business. Today our products are widely recognized across the roofing, pavement, paint and decorating businesses.
PRODUCT CATEGORIES
Gardner supplies products in four categories:
- asphalt based coatings & roof cements, blacktop driveway sealers, reflective aluminum and white roof coatings
- latex caulks, adhesives and sealants
- wallcovering adhesives and primers
- specialty paints and coatings
TECHNOLOGY LEADER
In addition to investing in new and advanced manufacturing equipment, Gardner also considers investments in research and development key to ongoing successes. Today, the company has more patents than any other competitor in the industry. Often, new products and technologies that Gardner brings to market become the future industry standard. Innovation is something we are very proud of.
Also, water based technology is something we are very proud of. By converting more products to be water based, we reduce or eliminate solvents and V.O.C.'s (Volatile Organic Compounds). By reducing solvent usage, air pollution is reduced and customers have safer products to work with. We continue to be focused on minimizing our impact to the environment, while developing new products that our customers need.
